When you put something in your hair, you want to know what it’s going to do. With so many products on the market, it’s important to understand which products work...
Lysine is an essential amino acid that plays an important role in stabilizing and strengthening collagen in the skin. It is found in the inner part of the hair root and influences the shape and volume of hair. An “essential amino acid” refers to amino acids that can’t be made in the body and therefore, have to come from food. Without consuming enough foods that contain L-lysine, our body prioritizes essential tissues (heart, muscles, etc.) which can leave the scalp deficient.
There are over 17,500 studies on L-Lysine and we’re always looking for more.
We love reviewing research, and we’d love to learn from you too. If you come across an interesting study and want to share it, please send it to us at firstname.lastname@example.org
